Laphroaig 10 ans est la version originale du whisky de la distillerie. Aujourd’hui encore, il est distillé de la même manière que lorsque Ian Hunter l’a inventé, il y a maintenant plus de 75 ans. Pour lui donner son goût si riche et particulièrement fumé, l’orge maltée de la distillerie est séchée sur un feu de tourbe. Ainsi, la distillerie Laphroaig malte encore une partie de son orge (environ 30%). Laphroaig dispose de ses champs de tourbes, de sa retenue d'eau sur la Kilbride, de ses propres planchers de maltage et de ses alambics relativement petits. Ce Single Malt Laphroaig 10 ans possède donc une personnalité exubérante et pleine d’audace.
